Brt project halted in Dhaka due to lack of security measures

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam has ordered to stop the work of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project in the capital due to lack of security measures. He came up with the order while visiting the accident site at Jasimuddin Road in Uttara in the capital on Tuesday( August 16).
Mayor Atiq said work is going on on the road, but there is no minimum security system. As a result, accidents occur after a few days. Public suffering is increasing. Development work cannot be allowed to continue in this way. The safety of the citizens must be ensured first. Then work.
He said work on many projects including BRT, Metro rail is going on in Dhaka. Directors of all the projects have been called to nagar bhaban on Thursday (August 18). They will be able to start work only if they ensure safety.
