Mosque sink stolen in Patuakhali’s Kalapara

Kalapara (Patuakhali) Representative: The theft took place in the mosque in Kalapara of Patuakhali late at night. The thieves entered by bending the grill of the window and broke the lock of the ark on the verandah and took away another iron ark with money. The incident took place at bara central jame mosque in front of Kalapara police station on Tuesday night.

During this time, the thieves also took away the money of small wooden donation boxes. However, no one could confirm exactly how much money was in these donation boxes. Religious devotees have expressed concern over the incident. However, police said they are trying their best to arrest the gang.

Md Hannan Bepari, general secretary of the supervision committee of the bara central Jame Mosque in the municipality town, said that thieves broke the lock of the ark in the verandah of the mosque and took away a ark weighing about one mind with money. This is the work of an organized gang of thieves. I have informed the police about this. They came and investigated.

Officer-in-Charge of Kalapara Police Station Md Jasim said, “We went to the mosque as soon as we heard about the incident. The matter is under investigation. However, we are trying our best to arrest the thieves.
