Coronavirus vaccination of children begins in Chattogram a day earlier

A day before the scheduled time, corona vaccination of children aged five to 11 years has started in Chittagong. The vaccination program started on Wednesday (August 24th) morning at the Government Municipal Primary School in the city. City Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury inaugurated it. Ccc Mayor Rezaul said the vaccination program will be successful like before. He said vaccination has been started in the city a day before the national program as there are more students.

Imam Hossain Rana, acting chief health officer of CCC, said 400,000 children will be given a special vaccine made by Pfizer during the 14-day program. Of these, vaccination will be done at the school level for the first 12 days and at the community level for the remaining two days. Rana said four teams will operate in each ward by dividing the 41 wards of the city into seven parts. To get vaccinated, children have to register with birth registration certificates through the Suraksha app.

Councilor Jahar Lal Hazari, president of the Standing Committee on Health, said all kinds of preparations, including training of all the employees, have been taken to make the vaccination smooth. Under this program, street children will also be brought outside the school students. Four lakh children between the ages of five and 11 years will be covered under the corona vaccine in all schools and madrasas in The Chattogram City Corporation area. Registration of 60,000 children has already been completed.
