SP Babul Akhter kills wife with hired killer

Sacked Superintendent of Police Babul Akhter himself planned and ordered that his wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu be killed with a hired killer. For this, he gave Tk 3 lakh to the hired killers. Babul Akhter took the heinous decision of killing his wife due to a marital dispute with Gayatri Amar Singh, an employee of a foreign NGO. This is how the mystery of Mitu’s murder was revealed in the PBI investigation.

Those involved in the investigation of the case said that Babul Akhter, the mastermind of Mitu’s murder – it is clear as daylight. The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has prepared a charge sheet against seven people directly and indirectly involved in the murder, including babul Akhter. The charge sheet will be submitted to the court next week.

Apart from Babul Akhter, the other people who have been found involved in the murder of Mitu are- Md. Kamrul Islam Sikder Musa, Ehteshamul Haque Prakash Bhola, Md. Motaleb Mia Wasim, Md. Anwar Hossain, Md. Khairul Islam Kalu and Shahjahan Miah. Four people arrested earlier on suspicion of involvement in mitu’s murder have been dropped from the charge sheet.

On June 5, 2016, Mahmuda Khanam Mitu was shot and stabbed to death near her house on Nizam Road under Panchlaish police station in the city while she was on her way to pick up her son in a school bus. Babul Akhter, the then SP of police headquarters, filed a murder case with Panchlaish Police Station in connection with the murder of his wife. Babul Akhter was relieved of his job in August of that year after various dramas, including interrogation at the Detective Office. Babul Akhter is currently in jail.

The state’s lawyer Metropolitan PP Md. Fakhruddin Chowdhury said on Wednesday afternoon that Babul Akhter was involved in the murder of Mitu. His wife Mitu was murdered on his plan and orders. The original complaint is nine pages. However, a ten-volume document has been attached to it. I have already signed the testimony (MoE) of the case.
