Dhaka, 15 October 2018: The leading digital service provider of the country, Robi, and MILVIK Bangladesh is jointly observing the World Breast Cancer awareness month, October in Chattogram. As part of the commitment to raise awareness of the disease three-day breast awareness and health camps were offered in CNB, Bayjid and Pahartoli areas of Chattogram and a live Facebook Q&A will take place on 13th October 2018 .
Breast cancer accounts for around 12 percent of all cancers in Bangladesh and around a quarter of female cancers. Breast cancer awareness and recognizing the signs and symptoms of breast cancer early can help save lives. Specialist doctors were on hand to offer awareness tips on breast cancer and general doctors provided free health check ups to 3000 members of the community. Activities including quizzes, game shows, selfie contest & a message board were arranged to engage the crowd, where in message board it had,many powerful voices around breast cancer awareness.
To continue to spread awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer during October Associate Professor Obstetrics & Gynecology, Shaheed Sohrawardi Medical College & Hospital, Dr Ruhi Jakaria gave a live awareness talk and Q&A session on Facebook, to raise awareness on this disease.
